• All-speed Traction Control senses drive-wheel slip and brakes the slipping wheel and/or reduces excess engine power until control is regained.

The 300C's suspension has been designed to balance maximum control with a comfortable ride. A short- and long-arm (SLA) front suspension and five-link independent rear suspension system maintain independent control of each wheel during suspension movement for excellent handling. An advanced suspension mounting system also dramatically reduces road noise. This means you get a smooth ride that is also quiet.

The 300C's rear-wheel-drive system provides a unique driving experience:

• A near-50/50 front-to-rear weight distribution, 3,050 mm wheelbase and wider track provide greater stability and a more balanced ride.
• Weight transfer to the rear wheels on acceleration provide better balance and traction.
• The short- and long-arm (SLA) front suspension and five-link rear suspension helps keep tyre tread in full contact with the road for maximum traction.

Safety & Security

During extreme steering manoeuvres the Electronic Stability Control^[1] (ESC) system helps maintain control by sensing when the vehicle is starting to over- or understeer.
ESC automatically applies individual brakes or controls the throttle to help you stay safely on course.

300C’s four-wheel disc anti-lock brake system (ABS), Brake Assist and All-speed Traction Control helps prevent wheel lockup for improved steering under extreme braking and slippery conditions.

Just plug in your iPod® or MP3 device and your entire library is at hand. 

The 300C’s standard iPod control allows you to operate your Apple iPod through your Uconnect™ Media Centre radios, as well as recharge your iPod while on the go. Simply connect your iPod to the port located in the glove box and you can immediately navigate through your personal music library and playlists safely and easily via the steering wheel mounted audio controls, or on the 16.5 cm touchscreen.

SRT-8 

Chrysler has unleashed a high performance Street and Racing Technology (SRT) version of its highly successful 300C, boasting 317 kW and a 0-100 km/h time in the low-five-second range.  With 20-inch alloy wheels, performance tuned suspension and Brembo® brakes the 300C SRT8 is engineered for incredible acceleration and stopping power.  The 300C SRT8 exemplifies the SRT formula of all-around performance at a very attractive price, expressive yet functional design and stunning performance.

SRT DNA is evident in the 300C SRT8 exterior styling, in a sophisticated treatment that resonates with the Chrysler brand's premium character.  Modified front and rear fascias direct air flow through unique ducts that cool the brakes. In addition, a specially designed rear deck spoiler, while refined in appearance, is also functional - increasing rear down force by 39 per cent without increasing drag.

Other unique touches to the 300C SRT8's exterior include body-colour front and rear bumper inserts, body-colour mirrors and door handles, and unique SRT badging.  Befitting it’s high-performance character, the 300C SRT8 offers power-adjustable sport seats up front that are fitted with performance suede inserts (matched in the rear seats) which hold the occupants during spirited driving. Seats are also equipped with heat and memory functions that are adjustable for every driver.

Steering wheel, shifter and door pulls are covered with "technical" leather trim for positive grip. Other SRT-only trim includes special finishing on the door trim and centre stack.

Full instrumentation, including a 300 km/h speedometer, tachometer and temperature gauges ensure that the driver can monitor crucial functions. A tyre pressure monitoring display within the instrument panel display is also standard.

Premium amenities within the 300C SRT8 cabin include a standard Uconnect Media Centre 731N CD/DVD/HDD/NAV radio with 16.5 cm touchscreen, GPS navigation, 30GB hard drive, audio auxiliary jack, USB port, iPod® Control and Uconnect™ Phone^[1] hands-free Bluetooth® communication system for compatible mobile phones.  All of this is operates through a 13-speaker Kicker® audio system with a 322-watt amplifier and a separate 100-watt subwoofer amplifier, with steering wheel-mounted controls.

Heating and cooling adjustments are made with an automatic temperature control system with dual-zone controls and infrared temperature sensing. Other standard features of the 300C SRT8 include an Electronic Vehicle Information Centre with 128 customer-programmable features.

The 300C SRT8's 317 kW, 6.1-litre HEMI® has the highest output for its size of any naturally aspirated V8 engine ever offered by the Chrysler Group.

To further increase power, performance-oriented camshaft profiles were developed to allow more air in and out of the cylinders, as well as manage a higher engine speed. SRT engineers increased the HEMI's peak power output engine speed to 6,000 revolutions per minute (rpm) from 5,100 rpm. Intake and exhaust valve stems are hollow, and the exhaust valve stems are filled with sodium to help dissipate heat more efficiently.

Power for the SRT 6.1-litre HEMI® is channelled through a five-speed automatic transmission with specially calibrated driver-selectable Auto Stick, which offers fully automatic or manual shifting selection. A heavy-duty four-flange prop shaft sends the torque from the transmission to an upgraded differential and axles.

On the 300C SRT8, world-class stopping power is a must. Brembo® performance four-piston red powder-coated brake callipers with larger vented brake rotors ensure that you drive with control. The calipers are dual-opposed for increased braking efficiency, with specially designed vents in the front fascia to direct air for cooling and improved stopping performance.

The 300C SRT8 is conditioned for outstanding ride and handling across the dynamic range that customers are likely to experience. The Chrysler 300C SRT8 connects with the road via a wheel and tyre assembly consisting of 20-inch forged alloy wheels shod with high-performance Goodyear F1 three-season tyres with asymmetrical tread.
