Available on Cherokee Limited, is the innovative Sky Slider Roof.  The mammoth retractable roof is easy to use and is multi-adjustable, so you can customise your open-air freedom. It takes about 18 seconds to move the accordion-style top to a full-open position. The fabric roof can be gathered fully forward, or fully rearward, or partially opened to any position in between.

Set it and forget it Automatic Temperature Control.

In automatic mode, Automatic Temperature Control with air filtration makes sure any incoming air is dehumidified for added comfort. This also helps reduce the potential for condensation to build up on the windshield and side windows. Enjoy.

The five-passenger Cherokee combines comfort and convenience with outstanding cargo flexibility.

Cherokee’s seats feature wide inserts for comfort; the front seats include heavy bolstering to cradle occupants for a secure feeling. Both the front and rear seats have tall, square shoulders with crisp edges. Foam padding is shaped to provide comfort in the cushion and seat back, with firmer foam padding in the side bolsters and softer foam in the inserts. Dual firmness foam is used in select areas for added support. The seat cushion is supported by a spring suspension, and the cushion length was optimised for thigh support.

Capability

Cherokee's standard 3.7-litre V6 petrol engine produces a robust 151 kW and 314 N.m of torque at 5,200 rpm and 4,000 rpm respectively, for a generous dose of power at the engine's low end that provides more pull when the going gets tough.

Or option up to the ultra-efficient and economical 2.8-litre CRD turbo diesel engine with 460 N.m of torque at just 2,000 rpm.

Cherokee can tow up to 2,270 kg when properly equipped^[1].

The advanced four-speed transmission uses fully adaptive electronic control for exceptionally smooth shifting. Push the TOW / HAUL button next to the shifter for improved vehicle performance and fuel economy while minimising engine noise during trailer towing or when packed with a heavy-load.

Expect unexpected road manners in Cherokee, thanks to a Short-Long Arm (SLA) independent front suspension, five-link rear suspension and power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering.

The road can be a threatening place - but with the standard Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist, Cherokee has the agility to help you navigate the trickiest of obstacles.

Hill Descent Control (HDC) with grade sensing allows a smooth and controlled hill descent on rough or slippery terrain without the driver needing to touch the brake pedal. This system applies the brakes to each wheel individually when needed to reduce forward motion while negotiating down steep grades.

Hill Start Assist (HSA) aids drivers when starting a vehicle from a stop on a hill by maintaining the level of brake pressure applied for a short period after the driver's foot is removed from the brake pedal. If throttle is not applied within a short period after the driver’s foot is removed from the brake pedal, brake pressure will be released.

Cherokee’s 4WD system, Selec-Trac, boasts world-class 4WD performance due to its unmitigated strength and real-time traction response.

Selec-Trac is constantly adjusting to road conditions to produce optimum grip on the road at all times. Should traction loss occur, Selec-Trac immediately transfers the lion’s share of torque onto the wheels with the most grip. Transfer of torque from one wheel to the other on an axle is accomplished by using a Brake Traction Control system.

Under the right conditions, the Cherokee can be driven by one wheel.

Safety & Security

Cherokee’s advanced multistage front airbags^[1] inflate with a force appropriate to the severity of the impact. Supplemental side curtain airbags^[1] provide added protection in the event of a side-impact.
During extreme steering manoeuvres the Electronic Stability Control^[2] (ESC) system helps maintain control by sensing when the vehicle is starting to over- or understeer.

ESC automatically applies individual brakes or controls the throttle to help you stay safely on course. When you don’t want the extra hand, ESC is specially tuned for performance handling so you can switch it off.

Not all roads are paved or smooth. Cherokee’s four-wheel Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) has a unique rough road detection system that has a special program to assist Cherokee’s stopping performance on gravel or dirt roads.

Drive with confidence. Cherokee’s All-speed Traction Control system uses sensors to monitor wheel spin, reducing engine speed, applying the brakes to spinning wheels, and transferring torque to the appropriate wheel when slippage is detected.

In a panic brake condition, Cherokee’s brake assist system applies maximum braking power, providing the shortest possible stopping distance.

Anticipating the need for additional traction, either of Cherokee's four-wheel drive systems automatically responds to wheel slippage by transferring power equally to both the front and rear wheels, improving vehicle stability.

Standard on Cherokee, the front seat active head restraint system moves the head rest forward and upward in the event of a rear end collision to reduce the chance of head injuries.

Crumple zones are designed to compress during an accident to absorb energy from an impact, decreasing transfer of that energy to the occupants. Cherokee uses high-strength alloy steel for added energy absorption.

Both of Cherokee's Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems regularly check inflation levels for optimal safety, security, performance and fuel economy. If the levels are off, a warning light will illuminate on the instrument panel.

Every driver will appreciate the assistance from the standard ParkSense rear park assist system^[3] to help you back into and out of your parking space safely. Ultrasonic sound waves give an audible and visual warning when driving in reverse at parking speeds.
