NT Pajero wins 2009 4x4 OF THE YEAR award!

The new Mitsubishi 3.2 litre diesel Pajero has taken out the top honours with 4x4 Australia Magazine,  claiming the coveted 4x4 Of The Year award.

Testing for the title included putting Pajero and six competitors through their paces in a week of arduous trials through the alpine areas of Victoria and New South Wales.  The vehicles tackled steep tracks, rough sealed and gravel roads, treacherous river crossings and mud hills.

Each competing vehicle was scored against five judging criteria including:

  1. Value
  2. Advancements in technology and design
  3. Durability of build
  4. Fulfilment of the specs of the design brief
  5. Sustainability for Aussie off-road travel, aka "bushability"

The decision to crown Pajero as the winner was unanimous across the judging panel, with the vehicle topping the scores in all categories to win the title by a clear margin.
